Working groups

Working groups are appointed by the Operations Committee. During the founding phase, the committee members may lead working groups themselves. Each group has a lead, who reports to the committee.

Technical Working Group

Maintains the Foundry's infrastructure: this website, the registry and its schema, the w3id.org/lof redirects, the ontology repository template, and the automated checks. Evaluates tooling (ROBOT, the Ontology Development Kit, reasoners).

Editorial Working Group

Conducts ontology reviews under the review SOP, mediates overlap disputes (LOF-P-009), maintains the design pattern series (LOF-ODP), and proposes amendments to the principles.

Outreach Working Group

Handles training materials, the newsletter or announcements, and liaison with related initiatives: the OBO Foundry, the Industrial Ontologies Foundry, the Common Core Ontologies community, and legal-informatics standards bodies such as OASIS LegalXML.
