Code of Conduct¶
The Legal Ontologies Foundry brings together philosophers, lawyers, computer scientists, and practitioners who disagree, often productively, about foundational questions. This code exists to keep that disagreement useful.
Expected conduct¶
- Argue about ideas, not people. Criticism of a model, definition, or principle is welcome; personal attacks are not.
- Assume good faith, and ask for clarification before concluding that someone is wrong.
- Credit the work of others (see LOF-P-018).
- Keep discussion relevant to the forum it is in.
Unacceptable conduct¶
Harassment, discriminatory language, threats, sustained disruption of discussion, and publishing others' private information are not acceptable in any Foundry space: repositories, issue trackers, Discussions, meetings, or mailing lists.
Reporting¶
Report concerns privately to any Operations Committee member. Reports are handled confidentially. The committee may warn, temporarily restrict, or remove participants who violate this code.
